A little over two weeks ago my husband and I were invited to dine at an award-winning restaurant called Terrazas Oceanfront Dining and Cocktails which is located inside of the Hyde Resort in Hollywood Beach, Florida. We decided to stop by Terrazas on Cinco de Mayo to try something different instead of heading to our favorite Mexican spot for dinner which is what we typically do every year and I’m so glad we got to do so! As soon as we arrived at the resort we took the elevators up to the 9th floor only to find a beautiful, bright, and modern restaurant that had the most incredible views of the poolside, ocean, and the city!
I immediately fell in love with the restaurant not only because of its location and breathtaking views but because of its stunning interior. The decor had a bit of a rustic look to it and a farm-to-table kind of concept and there was everything from plants to books to wooden crates and lamps and even sofa chairs which I thought was really neat! My husband and I sat in one of the tables that had a sofa chair and we absolutely loved it because it was super comfortable, made us feel at home, and gave us plenty of space to put our things down.
After we sat down we placed our order with our waiter who was very friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. For drinks he recommended that I try the Terrazas Punch which is one of their most popular drinks that is made with Passionfruit Don Q Rum, Guava Nectar, Lime, and Tropical Red Bull Topper. I sincerely have to say that it was one of the best drinks that I’ve ever had! It wasn’t watered down like many drinks are so you can actually taste the guava nectar and hints of passionfruit in it and it was super refreshing making it the perfect tropical drink. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it if you love the taste of Guava and Passionfruit just as I do.
For starters since there were so many good options to choose from and it was difficult to just choose one item from the menu we actually ended up picking three different items to try. We ordered the Tuna Tartare, the Tri-Color Cocktail Ceviche, and the Iberico Handmade Croquetas. Each dish was wonderfully presented especially the Tri-Color Cocktail Ceviche which was very colorful and mouthwatering from the moment that we saw it and the portions were great because they weren’t too small or large. The Tuna Tartare was very fresh and had a great taste to it and I loved the Sesame Soy Vinaigrette sauce that they put on top of it because it enhanced the flavor even more. The Tri-Color Cocktail Ceviche was also very fresh but a little too acidic for me since it had a lot of lemon juice in it but nonetheless it was still very good and tasty along with the plump cocktail shrimp.
As for the Iberico Handmade Croquetas they were absolutely delicious and my favorite appetizer of them all! I loved how they were presented and made because it was so different than the typical croquetas that I’m used to eating. The meat inside the croquetas had so much flavor and it honestly tasted like nothing I have ever had before. Plus, it comes with two amazing dipping sauces: fig jam and mayo aioli which add even more bursts of flavor to each bite. Our waiter actually told us the story behind what they use to make their signature in-house croquetas and he mentioned that they use a high quality pork loin meat that is only 100% acorn fed and that is from Spain. So if you are a croqueta lover and are on the lookout for the best croquetas in town then make sure to stop by Terrazas! I promise you will thank me later!
For the entree I choose the Sacchetti pasta which is a stuffed pasta that has pear and cheese inside of it and is covered in a parmesan creamy sauce and drizzled with truffle oil. Since I am a huge fan of this type of pasta and anything that has truffle oil in it I decided to try it and was blown away by how delicious it was! The pasta had a sweet taste to it because of the pear and the sauce was very rich and creamy and when combined with the distinctive taste of the truffle oil it was just an explosion of flavor in my mouth! It is by far one of the best pasta dishes that I’ve had and I highly recommend one to order this if they are ever in the restaurant. My husband on the other hand ordered the Argentinian skirt steak with the truffle fries which I highly recommend to try as well. The steak was very tender and juicy and had a lot of flavor to it and the fries were cooked to perfection and had such an amazing and unique taste to it thanks to the truffle oil, parsley, and parmesan cheese on it.
Last but not least, for desserts we ordered the Key Lime Tart and the Chocolate Mousse and finished it off with a Cappuccino. I had the Key Lime Tart and my husband had the Chocolate Mousse which is made with white and dark chocolate and is topped with a hazelnut crunch crust. Both selections were delicious but I definitely preferred the mousse over the key lime tart since it was very fluffy and sweet and the tart had more of a bitter taste to it.
Overall, my husband and I had a really great and positive experience at Terrazas Oceanfront Dining and we will definitely come back to visit again. Everything that we tried was super delicious and the service was absolutely phenomenal! I loved how the manager came out to greet us and ask how us how our meal was and how the waiter was very attentive to our needs, took the time and effort to take some photos of us, and was very informative about everything on the menu. Plus, the beautiful interior decor and views made it even more special and amazing and I love how they give you four hours of free valet parking so you can take your time to eat and then enjoy the views outdoors. I strongly recommend for everyone to come out to the Hyde Resort in Hollywood and check out this amazing restaurant because it makes for the perfect date night, birthday celebration, and special occasion and they even have a brunch style buffet on Sundays!
