A little over two weeks ago I had the chance to attend a unique brunch experience at Isabelle’s which is located inside of the beautiful Ritz Carlton Hotel in Coconut Grove. The theme of the brunch was “Mad Hatter” so as you can imagine the restaurant had different types of Alice in Wonderland inspired décor ranging from playing cards to clocks to rabbits to roses and teacups. All the details were so well thought of including the menu which featured four different signature cocktails in collaboration with Giovanny Gutierrez who is behind @chatchowtv on Instagram.
This special brunch menu features two main dishes, the Strawberry and Champagne Pancakes and the Queen’s Royal Hash along with desserts such as the “UnBirthday Cake” and the “Curious and Curiouser Carousel” which serves six different desserts on a whimsical golden carousel! Everything is a la carte so you can order whichever dishes, drinks, and desserts that you’d like. My best friend and I ordered both main dishes along with the dessert carousel and for drinks we had iced coffee and the Red Queen Hibiscus Cosmopolitan. The drinks that we had were super light and refreshing and all the food was beyond delicious! The Queen’s Royal Hash was packed with flavor and had the most delicious three cheese sauce on top of it and the Strawberry Champagne Pancakes had a beautiful presentation and were so fluffy and mouthwatering and unlike any other pancakes that I ever had before!
Something that I loved about this brunch experience was that they had a live DJ playing a great selection of music the whole time while everyone was eating so that made it even more enjoyable. Out of everything I would have to say that the way we ended our meal was my absolute favorite and most enjoyable part of the whole brunch experience. We had ordered the Curious and Curiouser Carousel so immediately when our waitress brought that out to our table my eyes lit up so bright. It was the most beautiful and unique dessert presentation I have ever seen and the fact that it brought six different gourmet desserts just blew me away!
The carousel brought the following desserts: Coconut Carmelia Mousse with Graham Tart, Pistachio Cherry Mousse Dome with White Chocolate, Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch Bar, Vanilla Bean Rum Cake with Guava Cream Cheese, Choco Raspberry Mousse with Maldon Cookie Streusel, and an Ube Cake with Tropical Fruit Curd and Coconut Ganache. All the desserts were decadent and super delectable and my absolute favorite one of all was the Ube Cake which also had one of the prettiest presentations!
Overall, I had such a great first-time experience at Isabelle’s and would come back again to try out their regular brunch/lunch menu. If you want to check out this brunch before it’s gone then I strongly recommend making reservations online at Home (isabellescoconutgrove.com) since this upcoming Sunday, June 9th is the last official day that this brunch will be taking place! And with that said, I am definitely looking forward to next year’s Mad Hatter’s brunch!
