Many have heard of the concept of combining art and painting with wine but not a lot of people (including myself) have heard of or seen wine pairing with creating beautiful floral arrangements in the form of a DIY flower class in a lounge setting. A few weeks ago I got to experience this fun and exciting new concept created by FloraVina which is a new event concept that combines creating sophisticated and beautiful floral bouquets and arrangements with drinks ranging from red and white wines and the opportunity to meet new people and have a great time and fun in the process.
The class began around 7:30pm and started off with our instructor Brittany introducing herself. She asked everyone in the room to introduce themselves and say what we do for a living. I really liked that class started off on that note because it created a comfortable environment because it made mingling with other people much easier. Afterwards, we started creating the arrangement that consisted of roses, hydrangeas, and other flowers and while the class was taking place the waiter went up to each person and took their wine order and when it was my turn I ended up ordering the red wine which was delicious!!
During the class I learned so much about the flowers that we were putting together and how to properly take care of them at home and most importantly I learned how to create a centerpiece from scratch that can be used for weddings, special events, or just simply to decorate one’s home. Our instructor was constantly walking around the room and asking us if we needed help or if we wanted to add more flowers to our arrangement. She was very funny, friendly and helpful and made everyone feel comfortable and at home. I got to meet many new people and take photos with our awesome instructor at the end of the class and of the finished product.
Besides the class, I really loved the the amazing setting that the event took place in. It was held at the Mod Wine Lounge that is located in Fort. Lauderdale and it really brought the concept of wine pairing and flowers together perfectly. The lounge had a 1960’s vibe and look to it because it had everything ranging from colorful lava lamps to 60’s TV show posters and artwork and even the colors of the walls reminded me of that era. It was definitely an unforgettable, amazing, and fun experience and I highly recommend anyone to take any of their classes that they host on a monthly basis!!

On a side note, I want to thank Alex Frost who is the Founder and CEO of FloraVina for giving me the opportunity to be one of the first bloggers to come and experience this exciting new concept!
And here are some photos that I took of the event:
Enjoy!
