Last Sunday my husband and I along with my father-in-law got to check out a fairly new restaurant called 10 Grill that is located in the Shops of Midtown near Downtown Miami. The restaurant serves traditional Argentinian cuisine in a casual and modern setting and if you’re a huge sports fan it is the perfect place to gather with family and friends to watch your favorite game.
As soon as you walk into the restaurant you will find photos and jerseys from famous Argentinian soccer players hanging on the wall along with two large projector screens and a really cool little bar on the right hand side of the main entrance. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very fun and lively as there were groups of people watching the FIFA World Cup and cheering for their favorite team which happened to be Colombia who was playing that day against Poland.
Usually, when I’m dining at a Argentinian or Spanish restaurant I like to start off by ordering a Sangria because it’s a very traditional and popular drink and it so happens to be one of my favorite types of drinks of all time. I absolutely loved the Sangria at 10 Grill because it was super refreshing and you can taste the fruit-driven flavors in it. For starters I ordered the Ceviche and the Proveleta which is Provolone cheese au gratin served with roasted tomato, peppers, oregano, and homemade crostini. Our waiter also brought us some bread with two white sauces which had a very different but great taste to it.
The Proveleta was good but it did not compare to others that I’ve tried which I felt had more seasoning and flavor to it. I also felt like the homemade crostini wasn’t fresh because it tasted a bit old to me so I ended up just eating the cheese by itself. However, I did like the mix between the melted cheese with the roasted tomato and red peppers because it gave the dish a sweet taste to it. The ceviche on the other hand was phenomenal and I strongly recommend for anyone to try it! It was super tasty, fresh, and it wasn’t too acidic for my taste. I also never had it with tostones which are crispy fried plantains so the mix between the plantain and the ceviche blew my mind because it was just a burst of flavor! It was honestly one of the best ceviches that I’ve ever had and I would solely return to the restaurant just to have the ceviche because of how good it was!
For the main entree my husband and I ordered the 10 grill picada which is a dish that brings a different variety of meats and sides in it such as chitterlings, pork sausage, chicken, skirt steak, chicken & beef empanadas, and homemade fries which we upgraded for the Gorgonzola & Truffle oil fries. The portion size was great for sharing and the overall quality of the meats were excellent! Our favorites were the skirt steak (aka Entraña) which was very juicy, tender, tasty, and super easy to cut with a knife and the pork sausage which was also very juicy and full of flavor. We also loved the empanadas (especially the chicken one) because they were baked to perfection and had an amazing and homemade taste to them. The chicken was good but it wasn’t as juicy as the other meats but nonetheless it still had a great taste to it because of the seasoning. As for the fries, you can never go wrong with truffle oil and gorgonzola on anything because of the distinctive and delicious flavor of the two ingredients so this side order was exactly what I was expecting! It was mouthwatering, crispy, and had a very satisfying taste to it!
Last but not least, my husband ordered the chocolate ice cream and I had the flan with dulce de leche for dessert. I absolutely loved the flan because it wasn’t over the top sweet and I found it to be very light and having a homemade taste to it. Plus, the dulce de leche complemented it so well and gave it a even better taste and was seriously to die for!!!
After the dessert I had a delicious cappuccino because after all any meal is incomplete with a good cup of coffee.
Overall, I had a positive experience at 10 Grill with the exception of when we first arrived to the restaurant where we had to sit at the kitchen counter and wait until a booth table opened up because it was completely packed with people watching the game. However, the managers were able to accommodate us afterwards and move us to a booth and they along with our waiter were very attentive to our table and constantly making sure we were happy with our order and had everything that we needed. In addition, the food was amazing and we were very satisfied and happy with what we ate.
